Councillor John Blundell shortlisted for award

Date published: 16 February 2015

Councillor John Blundell has been shortlisted for the 2015 Councillor Achievement Awards in the Young Councillor of the Year category.

The sixth annual awards honour the hard work of councillors from across the country that often goes unrecognised.

Councillor Blundell was elected, at age 20, to Rochdale Council in May 2014, the youngest councillor in the borough. He is in his final year at the University of Manchester studying economics.

He has combined his studies with his councillor role as Assistant Cabinet Member for Regeneration and is passionate about improving the education, skills and life chances of young people.
