Congestion Charge Debate comes to Rochdale
Date published: 24 June 2008
Rochdale businesses will get the chance to have their say on the controversial congestion charge at an event organised by Greater Manchester Chamber.
The event will give the full facts on the congestion charge and details of the public transport improvements planned for Rochdale. Representatives from Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority (GMPTA) will also be on hand to listen to concerns and answer any questions.
Carol Hopkins, the Chamber's Rochdale Manager, said: “This event will provide Rochdale businesses with the opportunity to find out the precise details of the scheme.
“The briefings will cover the intended public transport improvements and congestion charge, so that businesses can make an informed and reasoned decision on whether to support the proposed investment.
“The Chamber is encouraging all companies to look carefully at these plans and fully engage in the debate over their merits. There is an offer on the table to rebuild the transport infrastructure in Greater Manchester and businesses should give these proposals the attention they deserve and decide if it’s a deal they can accept.”
The event will take place between 8am and 10am on July 8 at Zen Internet, Sandbrook Park, Sandbrook Way, Rochdale. If you would like to attend or need any further information:
