The Borough’s Got Brains quiz night has raised over £1,000 for the Mayor of Rochdale’s charity appeal.
Held on Thursday (26 February) at Rochdale Town Hall, 38 teams took part in the quiz organised by the Charity Committee, to help raise money for Springhill Hospice, Heywood Youth Link and Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home.
The scores were close but Kelly’s Heroes won with Three Mancs and a Scouser coming second and Blue Pitts taking third place. The Flakeys were presented with a wooden spoon.
Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Carol Wardle said: “I am very grateful to all of the teams who took part and helped us to raise over £1,000. A special thanks must go to Ken and Angela Smith who compiled the quiz rounds and adjudicated all evening.
"It was good to see that the council cabinet team came a very respectable fourth.”
Alan Calow was the compere for the evening and gave up his time for free to help support the Mayor's charity appeal.
