Deeplish Easter play scheme

Date published: 17 April 2015

An Easter Play scheme project promoting fun, health and well-being provided a range of stimulating activities for children under the age of 12 during Easter Holidays.

As a result of the play scheme, and over the course of Easter, children and young people forged lasting friendships.

Councillor Mohammed Zaman spent time with the children and attended the final party. He was accompanied by volunteers, helpers and children in celebrating the last day at play scheme. He emphasised the importance of such schemes to engage with children and young people.

Sohail Ahmad, Manager at Deeplish Community centre commented: "We are very proud to promote the play scheme, offering a diverse range of activities for children and young people.

"I was pleased to see new families and younger children enjoying participation in play scheme and to see that volunteers are empowered and dedicated running our play schemes.

"Our priority is safer provision of play and health and well-being activities for children in a friendly and fun based environment."

The scheme was supported by volunteers and staff at Deeplish Community Centre and funded by RADPAC and ran for two weeks during Easter holiday period.
