Mucky Duck undergoing review of premises licence

Date published: 27 April 2015

The Mucky Duck pub on Drake Street is currently closed due to Rochdale Council undertaking a review of the premises license under section 51, Licensing Act 2003.

In a public notice review attached to the premises, it reads: “Notice is given that following receipt of an application from Greater Manchester Police under section 51, Licensing Act 2003, Rochdale Borough Council must hold a hearing to consider the application and any other relevant representations received in respect of the premises detailed below.”

The notice goes on to say that the grounds for the review come following a “number of incidents of violence and disorder at the premises including Licensing breaches and in line with the Licensing Objectives, Prevention of Crime and Disorder, Public Safety, Prevention of Public Nuisance and Protection of Children from harm.”

The pub was recently at the centre of a murder investigation after 28-year-old Adam Nightingale, died outside of the pub after suffering head injuries.
