Man has serious internal injuries following accident on St Mary's Gate

A man has been seriously injured in a two car accident on St Mary's Gate.
The accident occured at 5.17am.
The injured man is in hospital with serious internal injuries.
Police have confirmed that three men made off from the scene leaving the injured man in the middle of the road.
St Mary's Gate is closed from from Hunters Lane/Spotland Road on the market side down to Newgate/College Road traffic is being diverted along Spotland Road.
Police inquries are ongoing.
