Over 100 frogs made their way across Rochdale last night (Saturday 4 July) to raise money for Springhill Hospice.

Starting at Rochdale Rugby Union Club, the 100 plus frogs set off at 9.30pm on a 10km walk across Rochdale.

Springy the Hospice Frog was the theme for this event, with everyone taking part dressing up as Springy.

Before setting off, participants took part in a light aerobic warm up, lead by Zumba instructor Becky Smithies, and when they returned each frog was awarded with a medal, a bacon sandwich, a well earned cup of tea and a smile from Springy.

Springhill Hospice Fundraiser, Melanie Caffrey said: “We are really pleased with the event and with everyone who has turned out, dressed as Springy, to support us.

“The weather has held out and has been fantastic, despite forecasts this week.

"Everyone has been really excited and it has gone down well.

“Thank you to Tom and everyone at the Rugby Club, Becky Smithies for her warm up and Loopy Lou for providing face painting.”
