Kate Garside design chosen as new logo for Riding School

Date published: 23 July 2015

Kate Garside has had her design chosen as the new logo for Dickey Steps Riding School.

The riding school, based in Littleborough, was keen to create a new corporate identity for the business, so enlisted the help of Hopwood Hall College. After hearing from the company about the requirements for the logo, six graphic design students set about designing and creating possible versions which representatives from Dickey Steps Riding School then got to judge.

Her logo displays the company’s name in attractive lettering and features the delicate outline of a horse, which could be used in black and white or colour.

Commenting on her win Kate said: “I really enjoyed the experience of working on a live brief and I was very pleased when I discovered that my design had been chosen to represent the company.”

Stephanie Mills, from Dickey Steps Riding School said: “We were delighted with all the creative solutions put forward to us by the students. The quality was outstanding, the brief we gave was fulfilled and the design work they produced was imaginative and well thought through.

"I am now looking forward to seeing the new logo in print. I would like to say a big thank you to all the students and staff at Hopwood Hall College for all their hard work.”

Hopwood Hall College’s graphic design tutor Sharon Drysdale added: “It is great that our students have the opportunity to work on projects like this. It offers a real look at the design industry.”
