Car with archery bow in stolen
Date published: 02 August 2015
A silver Skoda Octavia was stolen in a burglary in the Littleborough area in the early hours of Tuesday (25 July). A takedown recurve bow, in purple, with black and orange limbs and eight silver and black arrows, were secured in the boot of the vehicle at the time it was stolen.
A takedown bow is a bow assembled out of a riser and two limbs to make a working bow when strung. The limbs are the parts of a bow that bend when the string is drawn. The string attaches at each end of the limbs and gives propelling force to the arrow.
Almost all bows used for Olympic Archery are takedown recurve bows.
