RBH members urged to use their mutual voice

Date published: 24 August 2015

Tenant and employee members of RBH have the chance to help shape the housing society’s future at its Annual Members Meeting next month.

As the UK’s first social housing provider to be co-owned by tenants and employees, the society is committed to working with its 4,500 members to improve lives and communities around the borough.

In just over two years since becoming a mutual society RBH has already made considerable progress and was last year named as one of the country’s top five landlords by 24 Housing magazine.

This year’s meeting will offer the opportunity to vote on whether to accept the society’s Annual Report and Accounts, meet members of the Representative Body, ask questions on RBH issues and help allocate funding to community projects through the popular Members Choice scheme.

There will also be the chance to hear about RBH’s successes over the past year and discover a number of ways the society can help tenants improve their finances.

In addition great live entertainment will be on offer courtesy of Middleton Youth Band and 2014 X-Factor contestant Danny Dearden from Littleborough.

Lynne Brosnan, Chairwoman of the RBH Representative Body, said: “The Annual Members Meeting is a great chance for members to put our mutual values into practice.

“We believe that it is the people who live and work in communities who know best what the priorities should be and so I would urge members to come along and help us build a dynamic future together.”

The meeting takes place at Middleton Arena on Saturday 5 September (10.30am - 2.30pm), is the most important event in RBH’s membership calendar.
