£9,000 lottery boost for Ravendale Close residents

Date published: 26 August 2015

Residents at Ravendale Close in Cutgate are celebrating after benefitting from a £9,500 Big Lottery Fund 'awards for all' grant.

The Ravendale Tenants Association successfully bid for £9,518 in Big Lottery funding to provide new furniture for the communal lounge and provide additional social activities, including aromatherapy and crafts.

Ravendale Close residents Joan Littlehales and Glenys Thomasson oversaw the bidding process, with help and support from RBH Community Partnership Worker, Helen Kelsall.

Joan said: “We’re delighted with the new furniture which is much more homely. The new chairs and tables allow us to sit in groups and socialise and they have already made a real difference.”

The Tenant's Association marked the award with a celebration lunch using the new furniture on Tuesday 25th August, to which all Ravendale Close residents were invited.

Ravendale Close is one of 26 independent living schemes owned by RBH across the Borough.

If you or a loved one would benefit from living independently with the peace-of-mind provided by extra support, the friendly RBH team would love to hear from you on Freephone 0800 027 7769.
