Home Affairs Select Committee Chairman Keith Vaz to boost Rochdale charities

Date published: 02 October 2015

Home Affairs Select Committee Chairman Keith Vaz will be the guest speaker at a charity dinner at Rochdale Town Hall on Friday 16 October.

Proceeds from the event, hosted by Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, will go towards the Mayor’s charity.

Mr Danczuk said: “I have known Keith Vaz for a number of years and this dinner will be a rare opportunity to meet one of the most influential figures in Parliament.

“As chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, he has one of the most important jobs in British politics - holding Government and public bodies to account.

“It promises to be a great night and I’m particularly looking forward to hearing Keith’s speech. I’m sure he will draw on his decades of experience at the heart of Westminster and share some fascinating and very funny anecdotes.”

Mr Vaz said: “I was delighted to accept Simon’s invitation and I hope we can raise as much as possible for important local causes in Rochdale.

“Rochdale Town Hall is a spectacular venue for what I’m sure will be a memorable and enjoyable evening.”

Tickets are priced at £25 a head and will include a three course meal in the hall’s Reception Room.

Space is limited to 80 people and guests are urged to book their place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are available from the reception desk at the town hall, Mr Danczuk’s office in St Mary’s Gate and John Kay at Molesworths Bright Clegg, Yorkshire Street.
