Shehneela Ahmed given special recognition award by World Leaders Forum

Date published: 12 December 2015

Rochdale-born Shehneela Ahmed has been given a special recognition award by World Leaders Forum to take place next year in Singapore for her achievements in sport and her success-story when she became Britain's and the world’s first Asian female football agent.

Shehneela was delighted to be chosen, she said: "I feel honoured to accept this invitation and looking forward to meeting inspring women leaders across the globe under one roof in Singapore next year".

Shehneela is "uniquely positioned" to share her views on how women can gain influence and recognition in male-dominated industries in the future.

The event organisers, who have chosen women champions across the globe, are looking forward to meeting Shehneela and honouring her for achievements in sport.

The Women Leaders Forum 2016 is organised by HSBC as part of the HSBC World's Women’s Champions 2016, bringing together and honouring inspirational and aspirational women. The world's women champions will take place March next year in Singapore

Shehneela will address the audience to identify and explore the issues that will shape the year ahead, women leaders across the globe also include leading sportswomen, scientists, celebrities and politicians to share their predictions for the year ahead.

The idea that women should be well represented at the top echelons of business is now widely accepted. How to get there is a little more difficult. Caught between the demands of work and family life, many highly capable women are ambivalent about pursuing leadership positions. Despite the great advances women have made in the workforce, vast inequalities still exist.
