Rochdale Antique Society celebrates birthday

The Rochdale Antique Society celebrated its 40th birthday last night (Wednesday 10 December) with an amusing talk from 'Antiques Road Show' expert Eric Knowles called “Confessions of an Auctioneer”, in front of a sell out audience of more than 200 people.

It was the third time Mr Knowles had attended one of the societies meetings and he spoke of some of the exciting finds that he has been involved with, including one which will appear on the TV show this Sunday.

A spokesperson for the society said: "Eric Knowles said he was able to talk freely as his audience understood his accent and were in tune with his sense of humour. This was a meeting not to be missed."

The society raised funds via a raffle and Eric sold signed copies of his books.
