Atkinson returns to Hull

Winger Will Atkinson has returned to parent club Hull City following the end of his loan deal with Rochdale.

Dale boss Keith Hill had expressed an interest in keeping the 21-year-old at the club for longer but Hull have not allowed the youngster to extend his stay at Spotland.

Atkinson hit three goals in an eight game loan spell that saw Rochdale go unbeaten throughout its duration. He bagged a brace in Dale's last outing, a 4-1 win over Morecambe at the end of December, while he was also on the scoresheet in the 3-0 victory against Macclesfield.
