New head groundsman at Spotland Stadium

Date published: 12 April 2013

A new head groundsman has been appointed at Spotland Stadium, home of Rochdale AFC and Rochdale Hornets.

Oli Makin, who will start on Monday 15 April, takes over from James Blackburn who is heading for pastures new.

Drew Duffy will continue in the role of Assistant Groundsman, and will work with Oli on a daily basis.

The appointment sees a return to Spotland for Oli, who spent four years working as Assistant Groundsman under Phil Collinson from 2006 to 2010.

A spokesman for Dale said: "The club would like to thank James for his hard work and efforts during the season and wish him the best of luck in his future career."
