Scott Hogan - League 2 Player of the Month

Date published: 07 March 2014

Rochdale striker Scott Hogan has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for February.

He stood out by scoring four goals, including a 16-minute hat-trick in the 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon.

His other goal came via a curling finish after a forceful run and shot against Morecambe.

Rochdale manager Keith Hill said: "Scott deserves the award, there's no question about that. He's a magnificent player, he's a magnificent person, and he has been superb since day one.

"At times Scott is unplayable. He's unpredictable and he's an intelligent footballer. His stand-out contribution as a team-mate is incredible. Everyone at the club was delighted for him when he scored his first professional hat-trick."

Sky Sports' Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "Hogan really pulled out all the stops for his hat-trick.

"Given Rochdale's position in the league, and his continued goal-scoring form, the club will be praying he can stay fit."

Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: "The Rochdale poacher has been in terrific form in February as he took his tally to 16 in all competitions.

"Manager Keith Hill will be hoping for more of the same as Rochdale look to gain an automatic promotion place and possibly the Sky Bet League 2 title."
