Dale Supporters Trust looking for volunteers

Date published: 17 December 2014

Over the past 12 months the Trust, due to a lack of numbers, has struggled to organise events and to staff the Trust Desk in the Dale Bar.

The Trust has lots of ideas and events but needs help, and hence is seeking people prepared to give a commitment to the Trust to enable them to carry on the work they do.

Trust Board member Martin Ashworth said: "With a race night planned in March 2015, the annual exiles day, events in conjunction with Dale in the Community, the match day Trust Desk and Player of the Season awards evening, we have a number of commitments and if you could help we’d love to hear from you.

"We have lost some board members this year, we’ve had to go through an arbitration case which, although the Trust defended successfully, ended up taking a lot of time and energy and costing the Trust the equivalent of 50% of our adult member subscriptions. If we don’t increase our numbers both on the board and volunteers we simply won’t be able to carry on.

"If you feel you can give an hour before a match day once a month, if you want to help raise funds for our chosen charity Springhill Hospice through our planned events in 2015 or want to find out more where we need help please get in touch.

"We’ve had a few hurdles to overcome this year but we see 2015 as a fresh start making the Trust stronger with new and enthusiastic volunteers."
