Accommodation required for youth players

Date published: 14 April 2015

Rochdale Football Club is looking for local families to provide a safe, warm and comfortable environment for their 16-18 year old apprentices who have moved away from home to pursue a football career.

The role of the landlord/landlady is a fundamental part of the young person’s career, educational, social and emotional development, both on and off the football pitch.

By providing a spacious and private bedroom, clean and hygienic washing facilities, rounded and healthy meals, regular clean and fresh laundry, as well as a good level of modern communication and leisure amenities, you will be a major part of the young people’s lives whether they make a career in football or not.

The role is all year round and runs from the last week in June until the middle of May, and is usually five nights a week as players will usually go home on Saturday afternoons/evenings depending on whether the first team are at home, and if their family home is in reasonable travelling distance.

Payment for the agreed contract will be £16.00 per day per apprentice (it is usually good practice, and financially beneficial, for a minimum of two apprentices to be housed together). This income is not classed as earnings for tax purposes.

All accommodation must be a non-smoking and a non-pet environment. Full training and support will be given.
