A four-year-old child had to be resuscitated by the fire service after being rescued from a suspicious house fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The child was rescued from the back bedroom of a house on Olive Street, Heywood, after a fire broke out in the stairs and landing area of the terraced property at around 2.20am.
Two adults and a four-and-a-half month old baby managed to escape from an upstairs window with the assistance of a neighbour.
All of the victims were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said.
Inquiries are ongoing.
