Date published: 01 December 2011

Hopwood Hall College’s state-of-the art new Technology Centre, at its Middleton campus, has opened its doors for the first time.

The Centre houses all of the College’s Engineering and Construction workshops and the first set of lucky students to use the Centre will have access to top-quality equipment and facilities such as:

  • The latest industry-standard machinery and technology.
  • Simulated real-life work environments, such as a service yard, outdoor training area and a decommissioned building, enabling tudents to gain first-hand experience.
  • Fully-equipped workshops which will give students the opportunity to produce the highest-quality work.
  • A suite of cutting-edge IT and high quality classrooms.

Vice Principal, John Spindler, said: “Staff and students are absolutely thrilled with the new building.

“We now have one of the best facilities in the North-West for teaching construction and Engineering skills.”

The College hopes that this investment will help its technology students, both current and future, to gain the necessary skills required for a successful career in industry.
