Mayfield Preview

Date published: 13 April 2016

After a real Jekyll and Hyde performance against Lock Lane last week Mayfield will need to show the best side of their game on Saturday when in form Siddal arrive at the Mayfield Sports Centre.

With three wins out of three already, Siddal pose a massive threat to Mayfield but if the Rochdale side cut out the errors and stick to Matt Calland's game plan they are capable of outplaying anyone on the day.

Paul Brearley and Callum Marriott were the star performers last week with great supporting roles from Callum Ogden Sam Butterworth and Rhys Carruth.

Siddal have a big strong pack lead around the field by Chris Brooke at seven and Craig Sanderson at hooker,

Sanderson weighed in with a hat trick of tries last week so he is one to be watched.

The Mayfield defence will have to be on top form to keep the Yorkshire outfit at bay but they are more of capable of doing that, as they showed in the first half against Lock Lane.
