Boro Juniors reflect on a great year

Littleborough RUFC junior boys and girls teams enjoyed an evening of celebration as they ended the year with a joyous awards party.

With the U14s winning the Blackstick Blue Challenge Bowl back in April, the U13s girls getting to the final of the Melbourne 7s and a number of Littleborough youngsters being picked not only for Lancashire but for the North of England as well, there has been plenty to celebrate this season with the future looking bright.

Every player from each team was given a commemorative medals by their coach and a number of them receiving individual awards based on what had been seen by the coaches and parents over the year.

The breakdown of the main winners from the junior teams


Under 13s Girls 

  • Player’s player of the season - Courtney Mills 
  • Coach’s player of the season - Erin Stott

Under 15s Girls 

  • Player's player of the season - Jess Hudspith
  • Coach's player of the season - Georgia Turner

Under 18s Girls 

  • Player's player of the season - Megan Dickinson
  • Coach's player of the season - Skye Wilson

Under 14s Boys 

  • Player’s player of the season - Kai Sumner
  • Coach’s player of the season - Ben Stott 

Under 16s Boys 

  • Player’s player of the season - Shea Gibson
  • Coach’s player of the season - Jim Briggs 

A club spokesperson said: "One thing that stood out throughout the whole evening was the appreciation of coaches, parents and supporters by the juniors, who have supported the boys and girls every step of the way and helped them to grow not only as rugby players but have helped them grow into confident and mentally strong young men and women."
