PCL has Twenty20 Vision

Excitement is building around the PCL as teams prepare for the first matches in the new T20 competition, the first step on the road towards the Tom Hardman Cup and Finals Day in August.

Four groups of six teams will compete against each other in five group stages matches with the top two from each going through to the quarter finals on 15 July.

Fixtures in match night one on Friday 3 June are:

GROUP A

Monton Mayhem v Moorside Mavericks
Heyside Hyenas v Stayley Scorpions
Norden Stags v Micklehurst Maddogs
GROUP B

Milnrow Rams v Royton Renegades
Kings XI Glodwick v Crompton Crusaders
Hollinwood Warriors v Ashton Black Knights

GROUP C

Walsden Wolves v Werneth Wildcats
Littleborough Broncos v Saddleworth Royal 66ers
Shaw Spartans v Middleton Moonrakers

GROUP D

Oldham Lions v Greenfield Thunder
Uppermill Uproar v Friarmere Cavaliers
Rochdale Pioneers v Austerlands Tigers

For the first time pink balls will be used to help players and spectators and players will wear coloured kit with their teams bearing unique T20 names.

All matches start at 6.15pm

The competition's trophy is named for Tom Hardman, a young former Central Lancashire League player who sadly passed away from a previously undiagnosed heart condition.

The league's designated charity is Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) which works to to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD.CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research, fast-track referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.

The tournament is supported by JW Lees with the headline brand being Manchester Pale Ale (MPA) - The Real Refreshing Alternative. MPA is a golden ale made from all-British malt, Liberty and Mount Hood hops.
