Welcome return for Lovell at Heywood

Date published: 23 June 2016

Joe Lovell, who left to join Royton at the end of last season, has decided to move back to Heywood, and has been named in the senior side for two important games at the weekend.

Heywood visit Flixton on Saturday for their latest Greater Manchester Premier League fixture, and host pacesetters Prestwich on Sunday in the last 16 of the Per-Fit 1st XI Cup.

Lovell’s off spin and lower order batting will be a welcome bonus, with Sean Burrill dropping into the second team for the home clash with Glossop on Saturday.

Burrill regains his senior spot on Sunday, with Mike Grogan also in that side, as Bobby Cross and Jack Morley are unavailable.

The second team also has a knockout date on Sunday when they visit Edgworth in the last 16 of the Per-Fit 2nd XI Cup. Into the side come Steve Evans, Keelan Nugent and James Mills in place of Burrill, Grogan and Michael Witts – the latter again named in the League’s Under-14 side.
