Rochdale Hornets preview

Hornets head to Hemel
Sunday 26 June, 2.30 Kick Off

Rochdale Hornets coach Alan Kilshaw said: “We’re not going to underestimate Hemel; teams have been raising their game against us all year and I’m sure it will be the case this week. They’re at home, it’s a tight pitch and there’s the journey to get over. Troy will have them fired up but we’ll be focusing on those little things in our game again and if we can perform to the level that we can, we should be able to get the win.”

New signing, second row Josh Crowley, comes into the squad and there is a return for Jordan Case, who was top try scorer at the time of picking up injury, as well as exciting young full back/wing Cory Lee.

Lewis Galbraith will move back into the centre with Chris Riley, man of the match at Newcastle, continuing in the full back berth.

Hemel Stags coach Troy Perkins said: “Rochdale are flying high at the top but again we’ve got to look after the ball and defend our line a bit better. It comes down to completing our sets and not spending most of the game defending our line, otherwise score lines like that are going to happen again.

“The team’s a fair bit stronger than last week, We’ve got players who haven’t played with us for a couple of weeks, which will freshen up the squad.”

Family Fun Day
Sunday 3 July

Rochdale Hornets return to Spotland and to celebrate they have a Feel Good Family Fun Day on Sunday 3 July. Children's rides, tiki bar, stalls and inflatables will all come to Spotland ahead of the game to get the crowd into the festival spirit. Tug of war and half back passing challenges add a competitive edge. The Fusilliers are attending with their paint ball range and Greater Manchester Police will also be bringing along a police car. The fun zone will be open from 12pm, with turnstiles opening at 1.30pm ahead of the big kick off at 3pm.
