Pennine Cricket League results

Results from the final round of group games played last Friday were:

Group A: 

  • Micklehurst 145-6 (Cole Briggs 46), Stayley 145-8 (Kenroy Williams 51);
  • Moorside v Norden – Norden won on toss of a coin;
  • Heyside 135-9, Monton and Weaste 136-2 – played at Monton.

Group B: 

  • Ashton 71 (Keegan Petersen 4-23), Crompton 132-7 (Denis Louis 53no, Chamikara Edirisinghe 5-6);
  • Glodwick 144-5, Milnrow 130-8 (Max Power 45);
  • Royton 85-3 (Liam Brown 53no), Hollinwoood 83 (Adam Good 3-11, Aaron Tesz 3-12).

Group C: 

  • Littleborough 153-5 (Sachithra Serasinghe 59no, Clinton Perren 44), Walsden 150-5;
  • Middleton 92-7 (Daniel Poole 3-20), Saddleworth 95-4 (Imran Aslam 53);
  • Werneth 46 (Drew Fullalove 3-11, Richard Doherty 3-7), Juan-Jacques Strydom 3-5), Shaw 52-0.

Group D: 

  • Greenfield v Rochdale – Greenfield won on toss of a coin;
  • Uppermill 203-5 (Girvacques De Jager 90), Oldham 94 (James Chamberlain 4-22, Nathan Boote 4-11).

Saturday’s league programme was almost wiped out by the weather.

Norden did start at Walsden in a match reduced to 27 overs per side, but with 20 gone the match was abandoned due to more rain.

Stags were on 107-3, with Michael Price having scored 56.

The only other game played saw Oldham seconds beat Ashton seconds on a revised target.

The Lancashire finals of the ECB under 15s knockout were due to be played at Norden on Sunday. 

Stand (118-4 in 20 overs) beat Milnrow (29-4 in 10 overs) on run rate. The other semi-final between Heaton and Euxton was not played following rain.

The Pennine League senior team defeated the Liverpool Competition by five wickets at New Brighton CC on Sunday. Ben Chapman (Monton and Weaste) scored a half century.

The quarter-finals of the Pennine Cricket League’s Tom Hardman T20 will be played on Friday 15 July, start 6.15pm.

Games will be: Glodwick v Friarmere; Saddleworth v Crompton; Monton and Weaste v Littleborough; Greenfield v Norden.
