Nicola White helped Great Britain to a 3-0 win over India in the women’s Hockey Pool B match at the Olympic Games on Monday night.
Nicola, who was born in Littleborough, scored Great Britain’s second goal in the 28th minute after Giselle Ansley had put the team ahead from a penalty corner only minutes before.
Alexandra Dawson scored early in the third period to secure the victory for Great Britain, who have now won both of their two Pool B matches after the 2-1 triumph against Australia on Saturday.
Nicola, 28, was a substitute against Australia but will be hoping her goal against India will keep her in the side for Great Britain’s next match, which is against Argentina at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Great Britain are currently joint-top of Pool B but are also still set to face the United States and Japan later this week before the quarter-finals begin on Monday (15 August).
