Steven Davies joins Rochdale

Date published: 17 August 2016

Steven Davies has joined Rochdale on a one year deal.

Davies left Bradford in the summer after spending last season with the club, scoring against Dale in the 2-2 draw at Valley Parade.

The striker started out at Tranmere before moving into the Championship with Derby County in 2008. He later moved to Bristol City and then on to Blackpool. He had a loan spell away from Bloomfield Road at Sheffield United in 2015, before going on to sign permanently for Bradford City in 2015.

Speaking of his move to Rochdale, Davies said: “After my agent told me over the weekend that Rochdale wanted to speak to me, I came in on Monday to see the manager and I was really impressed. We spoke about the philosophy of how he likes to play. It’s a style that suits me and my style of play suits the manager's system.

“I’ve played with a few other players who have played at Rochdale under Keith [Hill] and they have all spoken highly about the club and the manager and I’m excited now to get started with the club.”

Davies will wear shirt number 19.
