Date published: 18 October 2016

Jack Morley, a Year 11 Siddal Moor student, has been selected to represent England under 16s for the cricket tour of Sri Lanka next year.

Jack started playing cricket at the age of 10 and now regularly plays for Heywood first team in the Greater Manchester Cricket Premier League rubbing shoulders with seasoned professionals.

Jack has also played for the Lancashire Juniors team since the age of 12 representing the county at festivals, including Bunbury and Loughborough University.

An aspiring all-rounder Jack caught the eye with his batting and bowling which had the opposition batsmen in a spin.

Throughout his still short cricket career Jack has met some of his heroes, Flintoff, Strauss, Taylor and Hoggard and hopes that one day he can follow in their footsteps and have a successful cricketing career.

Jack will spend the next few months concentrating on his school work in preparation for his GCSE exams next summer.

Outside of cricket Jack likes to listen to music and play videos games as well as going out with his friends.
