Littleborough RUFC 24 - 8 Fleetwood RUFC

Littleborough RUFC took revenge for defeat at Fleetwood.

The opening try followed a great catch by Boro winger Nigel Coop who raced up the wing before passing the ball infield to support player David Kearns to score. The conversion attempt missed.

Fleetwood missed one penalty conversion when Boro were caught pffside, but a further penalty for a high tackle was converted.

Littleborough centre threequarter Jack Whittles fooled Fleetwood with a dummy pass and raced his way over under the posts for Littleborough’s second try. Converted by Coop.

Play was held up for some time because of injury to a Fleetwood player, who had to leave the field of play.

Fleetwood put pressure on Littleborough and their reward came with a try. Not converted.

Littleborough hit back immediately, prop forward Murphy Holt cossed the line for Littleborough’s third try. No conversion

A good opening kick put the game in Fleetwood 22 metres area but nothing came of it.

A penalty to Fleetwood for Littleborough offside missed.

Despite pressure, Fleetwood could not break Littleborough’s line.

Joel Rawlinson replacied Coop for Littleborough and Chris Collins took over from Paul Fino.

Littleborough were awarded a penalty try, which was converted with seconds to go by Captain Andy Bairstow to end the match.

Both Littleborough coaches were impressed by Littleborough's performance and they praised winger Liam Lloyd, scrum half Richard Taylor and number eight Ben Irving for exceptional performances.
