Rugby League: Cobras U10s 36 - 12 Leyland U10s

Date published: 20 March 2017

Rochdale Cobras under 10s secured a comfortable victory over a depleted Leyland at Firgrove on Sunday.

Cobras were due to travel to Leyland for the fixture but with Leyland's pitch unfit due to the bad weather conditions the fixture was moved to Firgrove.

Leyland only managed to bring six players so Cobras coach David Lawlor loaned four Cobras players to make the numbers equal.

Cobras started the game very strong with a try straight from the kick off and their domination continued as ran in a further four trys in the first half.

The windy conditions made it hard for the kickers, only one out of the five conversions made it over the post.

The second half started much the same as the first with Cobras going over the line again for an early try.

Pressure from the Leyland side paid off as three Cobras players scored for them to make the game a bit more interesting.

Cobras enjoyed playing against some of their own teammates, and both teams played very well in awful conditions.

Tries: Joshua Lawlor (3), Elliot Fielding (3), James Howarth (2).
Conversions: Joshua Lawlor and Elliot Fielding.
Man of the match: Elliot Fielding
Coaches award: Joshua Lawlor
