Rugby Union: Aspatria RUFC 53 - 12 Littleborough RUFC

Littleborough were comprehensively outplayed and beaten by Aspatria RUFC on Saturday.

Within two minutes of kick off, Aspatria's right winger crossed the line for an early unconverted try - a sign of things to come.

Against the run play Littleborough equalised. Wing three-quarter, Liam Lloyd made a run out wide and went over for Littleborough’s opening try. No conversion.

Almost immediately Aspatria ran in their second try, which this time they converted.

Aspatria crossed for their third try due to poor defensive tackling by Littleborough. The try was converted.

Littleborough enjoyed a period of prssure but failed to score before Aspatria took over and ran in a further try.

Littleborough forwards applied pressure and took the game into their Aspatria half of the field but couldn’t finish with any more points before the Aspatria right winger again stretched his legs and scored yet another try.

The second half started better for Littleoborough; a good catch by Jack Whittles was followed by the Littleborough forwards applying pressure near the Aspatria line, culminating with a push over try by Cosmin Rosu. Converted by Browne.

However, Littleborough were soon on the back foot again The Littleborough players were showing the effect of a hard-defensive game and it became increasingly difficult to match the constant pressure and speed of running by their opposition, who in the latter part of the match ran in a further four tries and conversions.
