Rugby Union: Tyldesley RUFC 33 - 15 Littleborough RUFC

Playing in the Lancashire Plate for the first time, Littleborough came unstuck at the first hurdle, despite leading at half time.

Littleborough immediately went on the attack and took the game into Tyldesley and within five minutes had taken the lead when Adam West converted a penalty.

Tyldesley took their time to open their account but did so midway thorugh the half with a push over try. No conversion.

Littleborough regained the lead when Nathan Coop crossed the line following a delicate forward kick by Chris Park. West converted. 

Tyldesley pulled two points back before half time with a converted penalty.

Littleborough's Chris Kolbuck took to the field at scrum half in the second half after a long layoff due to injury, with Chris Park reverting back to full back.

Tyldesley started the second half with another push over try and this was to be the scene for most of the second half.

Littleborough stood up well under pressure by their own posts, but a bad ball pass in their backs gave Tyldesley the ball and they ran in another converted try.

Another player change for Littleborough as Chris Roberts took his place in the forwards, having been out of the team for some time due to injury.

Tyldesley were in command and they crossed the try line for their fourth try, quikcly followed by anohter converted penalty.

Sam Dickinson and Paul Fino came on for Littleborough for the last quarter of the match.

Finally, Littleborough did create enough momentum to score a second try - Murphy Holt going over just before the referee blew for full time.

Man-of-the-match went to Ted Chadwick.
