Standard Challenge Cup Final
Mayfield took the short journey to Oldham on Good Friday and returned with the Standard Cup - defeating Oldham St Annes with show of tough forward play and scintillating finishing, scoring eight tries and three goals.
St Anne's opened the scoring, but in truth Mayfield never looked in danger of losing the tie against spirited, but outclassed opposition.
Mayfield scored tries through Kieran Hamer, Chris Hough, Wayne English, James Shaw, Declan Sheridan, Lewis Sheridan and Matty Ashton (2).
The poor weather kept the score down, but not the crowd - largely from Rochdale - who cheered the victors loudly and joined the celebrations that lasted long into the night.
