A season of milestones for Ian Henderson

Date published: 20 April 2017

After scoring his 100th career goal against Chesterfield last month, Ian Henderson has recently hit another milestone, after making his 200th Rochdale appearance in Dale’s 3-0 win over Port Vale at the start of April.

Since the Chesterfield victory, Henderson has scored another three, including two in Easter Monday's win over Coventry City, taking his goals tally for the season so far to 19.

Speaking after the game, he said: “The goals have started to flow a little bit more in recent weeks. On a personal level, I’m always pleased to score goals, but it’s to do with the team and picking up three points against Coventry City was paramount.”

Reflecting on his time at the club, he commented: “The 200 games have been chalked up really quickly.

“I signed for the club back in 2013 and it has been an unbelievable journey. I've enjoyed all of my time here and I’ve played a lot of games in a relatively short period of time, so to score the goals that I have for the club and to make that amount of appearances makes me proud.

“I’m very thankful and grateful to Keith Hill for showing the love that he has for me. I’ve got ultimate respect for the manager and everyone at the football club.”
