Premiership

When Greenfield hosted Saddleworth in the local derby  it was Greenfield who triumphed for their second win of the week end to make it a sad day for Saddleworth suffering their second loss. Batting first the visitors were bowled out cheaply for only 106. Bradley Woolley taking 3 for 24 and Jake Caudwell 3 for 16. Greenfield had no problems in scoring 107 for 3. Alex Peters hitting 54 not out.

Norden put the disappointment of Saturday’s loss behind them, inflicting Heyside’s second loss of the weekend when they were bowled out for 116. The wickets being shared between all four of Norden’s attack. Josh Tolley (39) and Naveed Zamurad (47) saw them home at 118 for 4.

Littleborough bowled out Monton & Weaste for 146 when Ryan Burl took 4 for 48.

Yet again Clinton Perren top scored with 88 as Littleborough knocked off the runs to reach 147 for 6.

After their surprise win the previous day, Glodwick proved no match for Rochdale when they visited Redbrook. After winning the toss they put Rochdale in to bat, a decision which back fired badly as the home team amassed 244 for the loss of only three  wickets. Pro Henry Cooper with another big score to his name (80 not out) and Ben Chapman (79) mainstays of the innings. Glodwick could only reply with 123 all out having no answer to Dale Hightons 5 for 34.

Crompton at home to Stayley were another team put in to bat after their opponents won the toss.. Stayley pro Hamza Nadeem again proved his worth in taking 5 for 32 for the second consecutive day, and for the fourth time this season taking five or more wickets in an innings. With Denis Louis 47 and skipper Simon Wright 51 enabling Crompton to reach 171 this proved good enough, as Stayleys batting was not quite strong enough falling 18 runs short. Dylan McLachlan making 56 for the visitors after Adam Good 4 for 36 and Akbar Rehman 4 for 34 did the damage.

Walsden at home to bottom club Austerlands were to good for the visitors in recording their second win of the week end. Hitting nine fours and four sixes in his 107 Jake Hooson was their principal run scorer when they totalled 279 for 5. This proved far too many for the visitors who still denied Walsden an outright win however when Craig Joy hit 57 in their score of 138 for 7.
