Middleton Town FC won the Division One Subsidiary Cup beating Wardle on penalties after a 3-3 draw at Firgrove on Sunday (14 May).
In a tense final, Middleton Town scored their third goal to match Wardle in the last five minutes.
Michael Tilby crossed a 50-yard pass to striker Danny Goodier, who scored the equalising goal.
With no extra time, the game moved to penalties where Goodier also scored the winning penalty.
The team has been promoted to the Premier Division and this is the first time they’ve won the cup.
Manager Chris Petcu said: “I’m proud of the lads; we’ve had a fantastic season and I couldn’t ask for more.”
The team has been established for around four years and is based at Broadhurst Park in Moston.
