Date published: 31 August 2017

Jordan Williams has signed on loan for Rochdale AFC from Premier League side Liverpool.

Williams, a versatile player who is comfortable operating in midfield and defence, has joined the club until January.

After putting pen to paper, he said: “I am really excited that I’ve got the loan deal over the line and I’m looking forward to getting going.

“I played with Joe Rafferty a few times when he was at the Liverpool Academy and I have spoken to him about coming to Rochdale. Joe loves it here and he’s told me that it is a great club to play for and that the lads are brilliant.

“I played for Swindon on loan a couple of years ago and I just want to get back out and play league football again.”

The 21-year-old joined Liverpool’s Academy at under-14 level and progressed through the ranks there before going on make his first team debut in September 2014.

Williams has been capped at under-21 level for Wales, and has also received a call-up to the full international squad.

He has had previous loan spells at Notts County and Swindon Town.
