Cycling: East Lancs retain the Beard Cup for the fourth consecutive year

The East Lancs RC retained the Beard Cup for the fourth consecutive year with a dominant display with nine riders featuring in the top twelve places, but every rider doing great rides.
Rochdale Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC) organised the annual Beard Cup Hill Climb on behalf of Manchester CTC on Sunday in Diggle, Saddleworth.
The event attracted a large field as usual for the one mile climb out of Diggle to Standedge.
This year there were no records broken as the riders faced a headwind to the summit which slowed them down by some 20 seconds on previous years performances.

Fastest Lady: Cat Jessop
Fastest Junior: Oliver Makinson
Fastest Male Youth: Max Bentley
Fastest Female Youth: Hannah Clough
