Rugby League: Cole Connelly and Liam Riley in Lancashire Under 19s squad

Cole Connelly and Liam Riley, of Rochdale Mayfield, have been named in the Lancashire Under 19s squad for the forthcoming tri-counties series against Yorkshire and Cumbria to be played on the 5, 12 and 19 November.

Caches Allan Coleman, Thomas Wood and Gary McMahon have stepped up preparations ahead of the series. Several players return having been involved last year in the Under-17s side.

Phil Johnson, Lancashire chairman, said: “From a county point of view this is highly encouraging and again shows how the pathway is working.”

Head coach Allan Coleman said: “We would like to thank all clubs and players that attended our training and congratulate them all. Unfortunately we can only select a certain number to the squad, and we are happy with its size and depth this year.”
