Football: Dales' Brad Inman makes Checkatrade Trophy Player of The Round shortlist

Date published: 22 September 2017

Rochdale’s Brad Inman has made the shortlist for Checkatrade Trophy Player Of The Round.

Inman joins Rob Hall (Oxford United), Jacob Hansen (Bradford City), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) and Dominic Telford (Bristol Rovers) on the shortlist.

Two goals and an assist for the on-loan winger helped Rochdale to an emphatic 4-0 victory at neighbours Bury. Having set up Joe Bunney for Dale’s opener, Inman produced two clinical finishes to put the game out of reach by half-time.

The Checkatrade Trophy Player of the Round competition gives fans the opportunity to vote for the player they feel shined in the first round of fixtures.

An independent football expert will select the five worthy players that will make up the shortlist each round, before supporters have the chance to vote for the final two.

The two players with the most votes will then be considered by a judging panel consisting of representatives from the EFL, before the overall winner is revealed on Monday 2 October.

Every fan who votes will be entered into a prize draw, with one lucky supporter getting the chance to present the Checkatrade Trophy Player of the Round award to the winning player and win tickets to the final of the competition at Wembley in April.

Fans have until 9am on Tuesday 26 September to register their votes for the inaugural award.
