Karate: Daniel Tarasevic and Huseyn Mikayilov gain their black belts

Date published: 22 January 2018

Daniel Tarasevic, aged 11, and Huseyn Mikayilov, aged 17, performed with their karate with distinction to achieve their Black Belt First Dan.

They are both members of the team Dojo competition squad and have represented England in the world championships, holding multiple world titles between them.

Sensei Ansari said: ”Both Daniel and Huseyn are an outstanding example to the rest of our membership that hard work really pays off.

“Repeated endeavour has raised their understanding of application and performance of the martial arts techniques they learned so far. With many more years of learning still to come, they will go a long way if they stick at it.

“I and all members at The Dojo wish them lots of future success in all aspects of their life.

"Most of all, I am really pleased to say that their behaviour and manners are second-to-none as they always show high respect to all club members - instilled in them by their parents and through the club’s GCP program. This alone is satisfying for to see in this day and age.”

Daniel attends school and Huseyn, who is currently studying A levels at Rochdale Sixth Form, wishes to pursue further studies at university later this year.
