Rugby League: Kingstone Press NCL set for TV debut

Date published: 28 February 2018

Following on from their appearance on the BBC, Rochdale Mayfield will feature on national TV again this season with their second round clash at home to Egremont set to be screened live on 10 March.

The Kingstone Press National Conference League kicks off this Saturday with Wigan St Patrick set to make history by being on national freeview television for their clash against the 2017 champions, Thatto Heath Crusaders.

The game will be shown live on FreeSports channel 424 on SKY as well as on channel 95 on all Freeview and Free-sat boxes.

This is the first of a weekly event that will see games from the National Conference League four divisions televised over the course of the season. In total there are over 30 games scheduled, all from different clubs within the competition.

The televised games kick off at 4.30pm and in week two, 10 March, it will be Rochdale Mayfield’s home game against Egremont Rangers.

Alex Simmons, host presenter and founder of RugbyAM, will be joined in the presentation team by his business partner and Leeds Rhinos’ second row forward, Jamie Jones Buchanan, as well as former Warrington players Paul Wood and Lee Briers.

The legendary Mick Morgan will also be part of the commentary team, and Great Britain stars Sean O’Loughlin, from Wigan Warriors, and Kevin Brown, of Warrington Wolves, will be part of the show.
