Date published: 13 March 2018

Rochdale shared the points with Bolton on their home pitch as poor weather conditions meant the original fixture had to be cancelled.

Rochdale, who usually play atweekends – worked hard to move out of the bottom spot.

As soon as the whistle sounded Rochdale came out with high energy and put pressure on the Bolton team.

Rochdale took the lead when Kie Leech intercepted a ball n the defensive third, she passed to Susan Halpin on the left wing who crossed to Jenny Banks. Banks rounded the bolton defenders and slotted home.

Bolton's high pressing led to their equaliser.

In a blow for Rochdale, Paula MacDonald sustained an injury and had to be taken off to receive treatment, however, Rochdale dug deep to see out the game and take the draw.

Captain Kie Leech said: “The team played brilliantly tonight, working hard right from the start and they battled until the final whistle.

"The night game added a new dimension to the match which I thought we all dealt with very well including our juniors.

"Well done ladies.”
