Rugby League: Tough trip to Premier Division champions Thatto Heath for Mayfield

Date published: 22 March 2018

After two defeats in their first two fixtures, Mayfield face a tough trip to Premier Division champions Thatto Heath.

There are fitness tests for Andy Taylor, and Paul Brearley while Zac Baker, Luke Fowden and Nick Hargreaves are back in the reckoning.

Mayfield beat Thatto Heath last season running in over 70 points.

Although a repeat is not expected, that result shows what is possible and Mayfield will be looking for the win to kick start their season.

The NWML side play hosts to Leigh Miners.

After last week's victory coach Dave Harmer is looking to build on the performance and capitalise on the home fixtures early in the season.

There should be a boost to the squad as players who stood in for the NCL side last week are back in the ranks.

Promising youngster Tony Hilton will be hoping he did enough last week to secure a spot but Harmer saysselection this week will be difficult and he may have to disappoint some players but will assure them that they will all get there chances again.
