Sailing: Father and daughter excel at Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club

Date published: 10 April 2018

The 21 sailors out on Sunday had to concentrate hard to keep their boats going. In such conditions, Richard Marsh, with daughter Lauren, in his RS200 had the expertise needed to take the win in all three races.

Evan Parry tried out an RS200 also, with Rana Din crewing to earn fourth place in race two, while son Adam Din, with Evan Parry, gained a second place in the third race.

The honour of the GP14 fleet was upheld by Martin Brennan, crewed by Steve Caladine, with the 'nose' to find the best air and take second place in races two and three. Peter Bramwell, helming for crew Kevin Parry in the latter's GP14, had a useful third place in the second race.

Top Junior helm went to Jasper Bramwell in his Topper 4.2 one point ahead of Jacob Din.

Several of the Club's Junior sailors were at Elton, in Bury, on Saturday for the first event of the Region's Junior Travellers Series, with mixed results so far.

Wednesday evening racing is now under way.
