Rochdale AFC’s Joe Thompson has been nominated for a global award, and he needs your help to win it.
The ‘Laureus Sporting Moment of the Year Award’, voted for by sports fans around the world, is presented at the annual Laureus World Sports Awards, the most prestigious awards event on the international sporting calendar.
Each month, from March through to December, the public pick their Laureus Sporting Moment of the Month from four emotional videos which bring to life the message that sport has the power to change the world.
Every monthly winner will then be in contention for the Laureus Sporting Moment of the Year, where after a final online global poll, the overall winner will be revealed at the 2019 Laureus World Sports Awards.
A video of Joe’s incredible fight against cancer and remarkable return to football has been selected as one of the four Laureus Sporting Moment contenders for the month of May.
He’s been nominated for the resilience, resolve and strength showed in his brave fight to beat cancer for a second time.
