Rugby League: Mayfield back in action on Saturday

Mayfield are back in action on Saturday afternoon after a week’s rest and they welcome Normanton Knights to the Mayfield Sports Centre in the Kingstone Press NCL Premier Division.

The rest should see Mayfield’s squad fit and rested and raring to go as they try to gain only their second win of the season.

Mayfield coaches Calland and Butterworth will be hoping to welcome back Zac Baker after a four-week layoff due to a dead leg.

Baker will be a welcome addition to the squad and will strengthen in both attack and defence.

With a third of the season gone and only one win to their credit Mayfield know they need to get it together soon if they want to start climbing the table.

Normanton, who arrive in fifth spot with four wins, have been very much a home side so far with only one of their wins coming on the road, so Mayfield will look to capitalise on this.

The recent dry weather will also suit Mayfield’s style of play and they will be looking to move the ball around the pitch and use their pace out wide.
