Hornets lose derby

Hornets were defeated 22-14 by Oldham in the Northern Rail Cup pool stage played at Sedgley Park.

The game was far from pretty, one of those difficult games where neither side found their rhythm.

Whilst there was the usual passion found in a derby game, the number of penalties was frustrating.

Hornets were courageous and played the second half playing with 12 men but just kept on going.

Oldham defended well and held tight on the line and showed good commitment in working for each other.
